Active Arts Youth Conference
The AAYS will be using art to educate, motivate, and mobilize the hip-hop generation.
Our program will include a variety of workshops, panels concerning the building of
student movements, a town Hall meeting with Danny Glover, live muralling, music performances, and a Demo Derby in which young artist
submit demo tapes to a panel of record industry judges. Input and suggestions for our
program will be much appreciated but combining our events with other events which are
not focused specifically on youth within hip-hop culture, or do not include facilitators
who are have experience working with youth, would be counterproductive. The focus of the
AAYS is very specific so all of our programs and events will involve arts and have a
distinctive urban atmosphere.
There are 21 workshops planned.
